Birth of VARIVAS
In 1980, Morris Co., Ltd. (Now, VARIVAS Co., Ltd.), Japan, launched VARIVAS, Japan’s first IGFA class fishing line.
VARIVAS revolutionized game fishing in Japan
The International Game Fish Association (IGFA), an organization that certifies fishing records on a global scale, has established strict rules to maintain fairness, regarding fishing line strength.
In 1980, VARIVAS hit the world stage as the first IGFA certified fishing line made in Japan.
Within the world of game fishing in Japan, the first world-class, made in Japan, IGFA-class fishing line was born. In 1980 package sales of 100m and 200m VARIVAS fishing line were launched.
